President's Message
Mr Animesh SaxenaAfter a prolonged period of gloom and doom under Covid I & II, spate of good news has uplifted sentiments across India during festivities. Exports are booming, GST collection is on record highs and Sensex is climbing historic peaks. United States, world’s most important buyer, has decided to open doors and is going to allow flights soon. But all this should not fool us: Covid is not going to disappear. It has reappeared in China even after almost every citizen being vaccinated there. It may come back here too. Second, withdrawal of monetary stimulus by the US Federal Reserve may have an indirect but substantive impact especially on flow of funds. As Indian recovery is largely based on mobilization of massive investment in infrastructure, the tailwinds in global flows can derail economic growth. So while we celebrate let’s not forget realities. Let’s stay alert and not lower guards as yet. Happy Diwali to you all. "

The Right Way to Build Your 2022 Business Plan

As the last couple months of 2021 approach, it's time to start thinking about how to reach even greater heights next year. One thing that never changes is the fact that having a great plan for your organization is essential. Even after you open your doors, you’ll continue to analyze, tweak and perfect that plan in order to improve operations. With the pandemic creating so much uncertainty, building a plan for 2022 may feel more difficult than in the past. However, there's some good news. Sticking to a few key points will take some of the edge off.
Writing on the Wall

Small, medium issue: Economic recovery gaining steam

High-frequency economic data suggests the Indian economy has crossed an important milestone. It weathered the intense second Covid wave better than expected, largely because governments avoided harsh lockdowns. The appropriate benchmark, however, is pre-pandemic performance and not year-on-year comparisons. By that measure, India is likely to exceed the pre-pandemic output by the end of the financial year. RBI’s October Bulletin indicated that its economic activity

India sees big opportunity amidst chip crisis

The chip deficit has stormed various sectors such as electronics, appliances, and automobile industries and has disrupted the supply chain globally. As per prominent global microchip providers, Qualcomm and Intel, the shortage is estimated to last up to 2 years which creates timely opportunity for India to venture into chip manufacturing. This also calls for the government to emphasize on the framing of semiconductor design-linked incentive policy which will offer financial and infrastructure assistance to MSMEs throughout various stages, as per government official sources.

India Rating cautions on export growth on H1 in FY22

As per India Ratings, it will be difficult for exports from India to see a substantial growth in the first half of FY22. It has recommended for a combination of policy support and strategies to tap opportunities of manufactured products for exports among developed and developing markets. The report pointed out that due to the aging population in developed markets, the demand for goods and products is different than what the emerging economies are exporting to them.

MSMEs has key role in achieving $ 100 bn textiles and garments export target

The Ministry of Textile has set a target of USD 100 billion exports of textiles and garments over next five years. This move comes as a strategic response to the ongoing commotion in the Chinese economy, as they lose their share in the textile market with buyers not depending on China anymore. For India this is a perfect opportunity to tighten its grip in the textile industry. MSMEs constitute majority share of businesses involved in the textile sector, hence the Government should facilitate MSMEs in being a significant part of achieving this goal by further boosting manufacturing units and other key areas.

9 Tips for Startup Hiring

Nothing will slow your startup down like having the wrong people in place. What’s the most challenging part of starting a company? Some would say it’s finding co-founders. Others might complain about the hassles of legal formation or state regulations. Still, others will insist that it’s gathering seed capital. My answer is simple: finding and hiring great people.

Finance Fundamentals

Why founders neglect finance functions and why they shouldn’t

Most startup entrepreneurs keep finance in low esteem. The rationale behind it is that finance is a back-office, non-revenue generating function that is not crucial in the early stages of the business. But this can be a big mistake. It is far from the truth that finance is a pure back-office function and does not generate revenue.

Marketing Mantras

Once you've developed your marketing strategy, there is a "Seven P Formula" you should use to continually evaluate and reevaluate your business activities. These seven are: product, price, promotion, place, packaging, positioning and people. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, people preferred to wear comfortable clothes at home as they didn’t have anywhere to go amid the lockdown. This is corroborated by the rapid growth India’s innerwear brands saw amid the lockdown, growing at 18-20 percent annually.
