Tenth India SME Forum organised in Indore


The tenth edition of the India SME Forum was organised on October 27, 2012 at the Fortune Landmark Hotel, Indore with FISME as the SME partner.  

Delivering the welcome address, Mr Ashok Badjatiya, President, Association of Industries, Madhya Pradesh, highlighted the need  for MSMEs to connect to knowledge sources. Mr Vinod Kumar, Country Manager SDRC & Secretary Jury Board, India SME Forum, presented vote of thanks. 

The first session dealt in Branding and Technology, speakers who shared their knowledge were Mr Prahlad Kakar, Brand & Advertising Guru and Mr Shashi Ravulapaty, Chief Technology Officer, Reliance Commercial Finance. The Q & A session was marked with exchange of information between the speakers and SMEs.

Speaking about the problems faced by SMEs, Mr Prahlad Kakar, said, “The solution lies in the hand of SMEs, they can get united through this forum and form a lobby which can raise the issue to the government.”

The next session was based on Funding for Sustainable Growth and the panellists were Mr Venkatesh Kannappan, National Sales Manager, SME & Healthcare, Reliance Commercial Finance, Mr Ravi Tyagi, Head SME Project, National Stock Exchange, Mr Manish Bhatt, Vice President & Head IPO at Primary Markets, Prabhudas Lilladher Private Ltd and Mr Rajesh Dubey, CA & Cost Accountant, Ex CEO SMERA.

They shared their knowledge on financing of SMEs, through an in-depth discussion about Raising Funds from IPOs, Debt Funding, Venture Capital, Seed Funding, Ratings etc. 

The SME Forum is a series of events being organised to select SMEs for the ‘India SME 100 Award’ and ranking them under the India SME Forum & Award.  FISME President Mr VK Agarwal is one of the members of India SME Forum Board and jury for the India SME 100 Awards.
