FISME holds a seminar on cloud computing in Bangalore

 

FISME, the leading representative of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), organised a seminar on cloud computing in Bangalore on May 25, 2012. This was the third such event under a series titled ‘SME Connect - Helping new age SMEs innovate and compete with cloud technology’ being held across the country.

The seminar was held in association with the Indian arm of global software giant Microsoft Corporation together with a number of partner organisations such as Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka (AWAKE), Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), Consortium of Electronic Industries of Karnataka (CLIK), Confederation of Real Estate Associates (CREA) (I), Electronics City Industries' Association (ELCIA), Engineering Manufacturer Entrepreneurs Resource Group (EMERG), Federation of Karnataka chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI), India Semiconductor Association (ISA), Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), Peenya Industries Association (PIA) Tool & Gauge Manufacturers Association of India (TAGMA), Laghu Udyog Bharati – Karnataka, All India Granites and Stone Association (AIGSA) and Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA).

    The aim of these seminars was to make SMEs aware of the benefits of using cloud computing by giving them an opportunity to hear experts sharing their insights, experiences and views on the future prospects of this new technology and interacting face-to-face with them, said Mr Mohan Suresh, Immediate Past President – FISME & Consultant for the Republic of Rwanda in Bangalore his welcome address.

The experts who shared their knowledge and experience with more than 200 SME entrepreneurs who participated in the event were: Mr V. Narayan, Associate Vice President-Cloud Services Infosys, Mr Gerard Rego, Director-Developer Experience Nokia, Mr M. Manjunath Shetty, Head BSG –South Airtel and  Mr Ashish Uchil of Microsoft Corp. (India) Pvt. Ltd.

The initial presentations were followed by an interactive session where assembled entrepreneurs participated enthusiastically to clear their doubts on various aspects of cloud computing. Most entrepreneurs expressed the view that more such interactive sessions should be organised not only on cloud computing but also on various other aspects of using information technology in their businesses.
