President's Message
Mr Animesh SaxenaThe second wave of Covid has hit like a Tsunami. I have no hesitation in saying that neither Government, nor businesses nor public was prepared for anything like this. The result is that this wave has overwhelmed availability of hospital beds to oxygen to medicine. Because of very high infection rate this time around, the mortality rates also have went out of spiral. Now we are entering into a period of extreme uncertainties. We do not know when the peak is going to be hit and how much time would it take to achieve the normal. And, by that time, how much devastation it would have caused to life and economy. A lot of pain points are reappearing: payment delays, excessive rise in raw material shortages and price hikes, fear of getting their accounts classified as NPAs, exodus of migrant workers etc. FISME is contemplating to hold a consultation with MSME associations to discuss the emerging situation. As captains of industry, may I urge you to share the situation at ground and suggest what could be done to alleviate the pain. Take care and stay safe. "

Business Banter: Lessons from Entrepreneurs

How to Avoid Business Failure

Entrepreneurs are, by their very nature, positive, confident, and sure of their business. These are great qualities to have when promoting your venture, but when things don’t happen as planned and the business begins to go sideways, those same traits can work against you. Entrepreneurs can get so busy reading their own press that they don’t see what’s really happening around them and may not react to danger signs soon enough.
